"He seems a little disinterested" - Tom Brady's former rival claims QB acting like he did before leaving Patriots

Is Tom Brady tired of Tampa Bay?

Most agree that Tom Brady isn't as sharp as he's been in previous years. Some claim it's his age. Others claim he's losing interest in the sport. Speaking on the Rich Eisen Show, former rival of the quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick claimed his lack of interest was something to watch this year. He went on to compare it to his level of commitment before leaving the New England Patriots. Here's how he put it:

"He seems a little disinterested this season. It's been interesting to watch because his thing has always been how focused he is all the time, whether it's an inferior opponent or a big Sunday or Monday Night game - he just always seems to be on it. And there's just something that feels a little off that's just missing this year."

Fitzpatrick went on to compare the 2022 version of the quarterback to the 2019 version of him:

"I compared it to 2019, which was his last year with New England. The same thing where it's just something that fell off of that offense. And he was exasperated all the time and just not real happy with the way things were going."

What happened during Tom Brady's 2019 season?

In what was Brady's final season with the New England Patriots, not many would cite the offense as the issue. In his first three games, the quarterback's team scored at least 30 points, including a 43-0 obliteration of the Miami Dolphins. During the team's opening eight-game winning streak, the team scored less than 30 points just twice.

However, starting in Week 9, the Patriots offense hit a wall. In the remaining games, the team only scored more than 30 points once. The team made the playoffs but lost in the wild card round to the Tennessee Titans.

This year, Brady has only seen one 30-point game through six weeks of action. He's also sitting at a low record of 3-3, leaving many to wonder where that leaves the quarterback.

Nonetheless, the team will hope to get in sync this weekend against the Carolina Panthers.
