“I don’t think he comes out” – NFL writer predicts Tom Brady will curve $37.5M a year deal despite Buccaneers failing to impress

With the 2022 regular season coming to an end, the attention has, once again, shifted to Tom Brady and his eventual retirement. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers star has already unretired once, and he might still have a few more seasons to play. The real discourse, however, is around his multi-million-dollar deal with Fox.

As per reports, Brady is in line for a $375 million, 10-year deal with Fox. Just like other retired NFL greats, the 45-year-old will be paid around $37.5 million a year to sit and talk about football.

According to Andrew Marchand on "The Marchand and Ourand Sports Media Podcast," Brady will ultimately bag the lucrative deal. This is irrespective of how the Bucs are performing this season.

Following the Super Bowl LV win against the Kansas City Chiefs, Brady (and the team's) performance has continued to decline. Though a final retirement seemed to be the obvious options, Brady's divorce with Gisele Bundchen might have switched things up.

"If you want a prediction, I say he plays again. Again, I don't know that. There's no like real sourcing or anything on that. If we talked, maybe six months ago, I might have said, 'You know what this is like. He's kind of gearing up to retire," Marchand said.

He continued:

"But then I don't really like to get these guys personalized. But he gets divorced. And that kind of changes things to me. And just watching him. He just seems to have a passion for the game."

Of course, Marchand accepted that the Bucs might not be as good, even though Tom Brady is still continuing to play well. Apparently, the San Francisco 49ers are an option for the seven-time Super Bowl champion.

And if not, the Fox contract is already waiting for him:

"I don't think he comes out. But if he does, he's got the $375 million contract that we reported on the day they announced it. So 37 half-million dollars a year. I will say there's a lot of people in the business, very smart people very in the know people who kind of have their doubts that Brady ever does it."

Can Tom Brady move to play for the Las Vegas Raiders?

Earlier, Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels revealed that they will bench franchise QB Derek Carr for the remaining two regular-season games. Apparently, the team could look to move Carr after the season wraps up.

NFL Twitter came alive promptly after the news, wondering if Brady will play a season in Vegas. With McDaniels having worked with Brady for 13 years in New England, a reunion would be an interesting turn.

Furthermore, Tom Brady's move to the Raiders might also bring Rob Gronkowski out of his apparent retirement.
