The Detroit Lions have been crowned the best team in the National Football League after 12 weeks of action – and with good reason. Over their last two games, the Lions have piled on 76 points against the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Indianapolis Colts, all while restricting their opponents to a total of 12 points.
The Lions will look to continue their quest of dominating the league when they kick off the NFL Thanksgiving Day schedule when they take on the Chicago Bears later this afternoon.
Detroit has a few injury concerns to deal with for Week 13 and running back David Montgomery was one of them. However, head coach Dan Campbell was more than optimistic about having him back for Turkey Day.
Is David Montgomery playing today vs Bears on Thanksgiving?
When asked about the chances of keeping David Montgomery from facing his former team, Campbell told reporters (via AOL.com):
"Oh heck no, are you kidding me? No, no, no. And look, David last week was – he wanted to get back in that game. He was good and I held him back just to be on the safe side and he was not happy."
Montgomery, currently listed as questionable, told reporters that he was ready to go up against the Bears.
"It always feels a little different so, I'll be ready," the Lions RB said.
Chicago Bears vs Detroit Lions injury report
CB Carlton Davis (knee) and tackle Taylor Decker (knee) have been ruled out of the Thanksgiving Day showdown against Chicago, compounding the Lions' injury issues on defense. Montgomery and Amon-Ra St. Brown have both been listed as questionable but the pair are expected to suit up against Chicago.
The Bears, meanwhile, have two names on the injury report – Elijah Hicks and Ryan Bates. Both have been ruled out for Week 13.
The Bears appear to be in a bit of a freefall over the past few weeks, failing to pick up a win in their last five games, putting head coach Matt Eberflus on the hot seat.
The Bears versus Lions game is scheduled to kick -off at noon Eastern live from Ford Field in Detroit. The game will air live on CBS.
