The San Francisco 49ers and Trent Williams ended another offseason saga when they agreed to a three-year, $82.6 million on Tuesday. The new deal includes a $25.7 million signing bonus and $48 million guaranteed.
Williams' agency, Elite Loyalty Sports, shared a graphic breaking down Williams' new deal, which is set to break many records in the league. He'll be the richest non-QB player in NFL history ($183 million in guaranteed money).
He will also get the most cash for any lineman in the first year of his contract ($27.65 million), the most guaranteed money for any lineman since 2021 ($103 million). Over his career, he'll have $358.8 million in earnings.

Trent Williams has been an integral part of the 49ers' recent quests for the Super Bowl. He was the league's best pass-blocking tackle last season with a 95.8% pass-block win rate and has been named to the Pro Bowl 11 times in his career.
Coming off a Super Bowl appearance for the second time in four years, the Niners endured some drama this offseason, first with Brandon Aiyuk requesting a trade before re-signing with the organization.
Now, they have secured another key player's services for Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season. Williams traveled to San Francisco earlier today to end his holdout and join his teammates as they prepare to take on the New York Jets in the season opener Monday night.
Trent Williams explains the reason behind his holdout
Before this deal, the All-Pro left tackle had no more guaranteed money left on a six-year, $138 million contract he signed in 2021. Back in the day, he became the highest-paid offensive lineman in NFL history.
With other players like Tristan Wirfs overtaking him with their new salaries and the fact that he didn't have any more guaranteed money, Williams decided to take care of his situation. Talking with reporters, he explained why he refused to show up until a new deal was agreed to.
"Just security. Obviously, it's a volatile league. I got my stature, my age. I thought security was important, and that was all," Williams said.
Trent Williams isn't the flashiest player on the 49ers roster, and he doesn't need to be, but his presence has proven crucial for the squad. They lost four of the five regular-season losses in 2023 when Williams was inactive or didn't play half the snaps for the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
