"It might be time to get out" - NFL analyst urges Packers to hit kill switch on Aaron Rodgers era

Aaron Rodgers is staring 40 years old in the face, and the Green Bay Packers are staring down their own terrible truth. That is, at least, how one NFL analyst has essentially painted the situation. Speaking on 'The Rich Eisen Show', NFL analyst Chris Long pressured the team to move on from the quarterback. Here's how he put it:

"It might be time to get out, and it might not matter what Jordan Love looks like. And I didn't see enough about Jordan Love last night to really feel great, like it's just the Eagles in soft coverage, right? It's one drive. But hey, if all you've got to do is run Christian Watson across the field and he's got to outrun some poor guy..."

He continued, conceeding that the quarterback would fetch a high price:

"If we feel good about our weapons and we feel good about Jordan Love to the point where like we can move Aaron Rodgers, I don't think that's the craziest thing in the world. I think Aaron Rodgers would go for a haul, right? You could kind of reset with the quarterback [whether] you like him or not."

Are Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, and Russell Wilson slipping from the top of the NFL hierarchy?

Over the last decade, at least one of either Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, or Russell Wilson have been the quarterback to beat in the NFL. This year, all three quarterbacks are under .500. While Tom Brady is still leading his division, fans would agree that No. 12 simply hasn't looked like himself in 2022.

Meanwhile, the Packers quarterback would need to run the table to finish the season above .500. Lastly, Russell Wilson has hit a wall in the AFC West, falling to 3-8. Wilson is well behind Patrick Mahomes, who continues to not skip a beat. Unless two of the three quarterbacks put on the burners this week, their hopes of finishing over .500 will be dashed.

Of course, that still leaves a window for the 5-6 Tom Brady to hit a December hot streak and jump to well above .500. Will the former Patriots quarterback buckle down to wrap up the year?
