Jack Harlow's halftime show labeled 'worst ever' by NFL fans as rapper bombs during Packers-Lions: "This is garbage"

The NFL's Thanksgiving Day action commenced with the Detroit Lions hosting the Green Bay Packers at Ford Field, featuring a half-time performance from rapper Jack Harlow.

The action on the field was breathless. The Packers' defense forced two fumbles, while quarterback Jordan Love had an outstanding first half as the visitors raced to a 23-6 lead.

While the battle between the NFC North rivals delivered, the half-time show featuring Harlow left plenty to be desired. The stage design was unimpressive, and the rapper's rendition of his smash hit 'Tyler Herro' was cold.

Harlow's unenthusiastic performance, coupled with the already upset Detroit crowd's lack of interest, made for a mediocre showing.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Antonio Brown was thoroughly underwhelmed. He posted (and later deleted), saying:

"Jokes."

Brown wasn't the only one who voiced his discontent. Here are some of the comments about Jack Harlow's halftime show performance from fans on social media. One tweeted:

"Watching it run this is garbage. I'd rather listen to the FOX NFL crew."

Here are some of the top reactions on X (formerly called Twitter):

Is Jack Harlow from Detroit?

Jack Harlow grew up in Louisville, Kentucky. While Harlow isn't a self-professed Lions fan, some raised the question of why the franchise didn't choose Eminem as the halftime performer, given he has been a vocal fan of the Lions over the years.

NFL Thanksgiving halftime shows split public opinion

While Jack Harlow's show turned out to be a bust, the Dallas Cowboys appeared to get things just right.

Dolly Parton turned up to the Cowboys' halftime show against the Commanders wearing a Dallas cheerleading uniform. Franchise icon Tony Romo's reaction to Parton's show didn't quite go down well, but Parton did win plaudits for her performance.

Over at the Seahawks' side of things, DJ Steve Aoki was the performer for the halftime show. However, the Thursday Night Football broadcast abruptly cut away from Aoki's halftime show, with several fans voicing outrage over the incident.
