Fox Sports' Joy Taylor wants Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson to take responsibility for Nathaniel Hackett's firing. After a poor season that saw Denver rooted to the bottom of the AFC West with a 4-11 record, Hackett was given his marching orders.

After an offseason filled with so much hope with a new star quarterback and an offensive coordinator that was a star with Aaron Rodgers, many had Denver going to the Super Bowl. But they didn't even make the playoffs.

What are the current Super Bowl odds?

Russell Wilson has had a subpar season and Taylor wants to set the record straight. Wilson got Hackett fired because of his poor play throughout the year.

Taylor said on The Herd with Colin Cowherd:

"It was a disaster for the Denver Broncos this season considering the expectations, considering the trade, everything that they had the year before that was carried over, how the defense has played. It's been a dumpster fire, and Russ is gonna say the right thing."

Taylor added:

"But there's no two ways about this. Russell Wilson got Nathaniel Hackett fired. He did, his play got Hackett fired. So, where'd the Broncos go from here? Do they hire an experienced head coach? Do they bring in another young offensive upstart to try and fix Russell Wilson?"

Where do the Broncos go after Nathaniel Hackett's firing?

Kansas City v Denver regular season game.

The only way is up, right? The next Denver head coach will have to be someone who is capable of fixing what has happened this year. Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn has been touted as a possible replacement.

But surely the Colorado outfit will go for an offensive-minded head coach given most of the issues have to do with Russell Wilson. Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy could be the one that could "fix" Wilson.

Whichever way they decide to go, the Broncos have to make the right decision as they are stuck with Wilson on huge money for the foreseeable future.

It will take a monumental effort to get the franchise back to what it was, and that starts with hiring the right head coach.
