Former wide receiver Julian Edelman roasted Tom Brady about his newest film project.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady has a new project and this time it involves the movie industry. As reported several months ago, the quarterback will be featured in a new motion picture entitled '80 for Brady.' It's the story of four friends who made the journey to the Super Bowl to watch the quarterback play the Atlanta Falcons.

When the official trailer was released this week, one of his former teammates used the opportunity to roast the 45 year old quarterback. Retired New England Patriots wide receiver and Super Bowl champion Julian Edelman retweeted the trailer. He said that that the title of the movie will also be the title of the quarterback's documentary, poking fun at his age.

"#80forBrady will also be the title of the doc made about Tom's retirement."

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback hasn't commented on Edelman's remarks as of yet. Former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski will also make an appearance in the film. Edelman himself is rumored to have a cameo in the film too.

Is 80 for Brady based on a true story?

The new motion picture will be out in theaters on February 3, 2023, just in time to watch before Super Bowl LVII in Glendale, Arizona. Starring in the movie are Jane Fonda, Sally Field, Lily Tomlin and Rita Moreno.

The movie is the story of four friends who made the journey to Super Bowl LI to watch Tom Brady and the New England Patriots take on the Atlanta Falcons. The outcome of that Super Bowl is very well-known, as the Falcons blew a 28-3 lead and the Patriots would take the win.

The plot for the movie is based on a true story. It is based on four ladies (all seniors) who have been friends for decades. In 2017 they decided to travel to Super Bowl LI in Houston, Texas to watch the New England Patriots face the Atlanta Falcons.

In an interview with People, Lily Tomlin mentioned that the grandson of one of the ladies depicted in the movie pitched the film idea to Tom Brady's agent. When the seven-time Super Bowl winner heard the story, he loved it. So much so that he is actually the producer of the film. Tomlin said she watched a video of Brady calling one of the ladies and telling her that he had decided to make a movie of her adventure:

“Her grandson had pitched the idea to his agent and he was so taken with the story he was going to make a movie about their adventure.”

The movie features many other celebrities, including Guy Fieri, Billy Porter and Harry Hamlin, just to name a few. This will doubtless be a huge success when it hits the screen.
