Will Justin Fields play Sunday vs. Eagles?

The Chicago Bears had their bye in Week 13, allowing the squad to properly rest up as they don't have to travel for a game.

Despite playing in their last game vs. the Green Bay Packers on December 4th, quarterback Justin Fields was on the injury report after the game.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that team head coach Matt Eberflus told reporters that Fields didn't practice on Wednesday due to being sick. His status is day-to-day, meaning there is no timetable for his return.

Chicago local reporter Larry Mayer, who writes for Chicagobears.com, reported that Eberflus said that Fields is feeling better each day. There's anticipation that the signal-caller will start Sunday vs. the Philadelphia Eagles.

With clarification from Mayer, Fields and company will monitor how he feels over the next few days and he may or may not practice extensively.

Fields missed his first game of the season in Week 12 against the New York Jets. He suffered a dislocation to his non-throwing shoulder vs. the Atlanta Falcons in Week 11.

Fields was drafted in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft by Chicago.

He appeared in 12 games as a rookie while starting 10, going 2-8 as the starting quarterback. He completed a low 58.9 percent of his passes, threw just seven touchdowns, and had 10 interceptions. He ran for two touchdowns and 420 yards on 72 carries.

Fields has improved vastly this season.

He's set numerous quarterback rushing records. He set the NFL single-game regular season record for quarterback rushing yards at 178. He also became the first NFL quarterback to rush for 140 yards in consecutive games and the first to record multiple rushing touchdowns of over 60 yards.

He currently has 905 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns this season while throwing for 1,896 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 10 picks.

Fields will likely play Sunday vs. the Eagles and his presence will be needed if they want to compete with the best team in the NFL.
