While the Dallas Cowboys finally snapped their five-game losing streak by defeating the Washington Commanders, NBA star and Washington native Kevin Durant was hit hard by the loss.

In an appearance on the "Up & Adams" show, Durant spoke about the emotional rollercoaster he was going through after the Commanders' meltdown in the fourth quarter.

"I couldn’t believe that we got, we were able to score in 25-26 seconds. So imagine my emotions going from thinking that it’s gonna be tough to win that game, to scoring, to missing a field goal. I just could not believe it. I was, I’m almost still in shock right now. Damn, that hurt." Durant said.

In spite of the fact that Washington Commanders scored a last-second touchdown, an extra-point miss led to Cowboys to win the NFC clash.

Currently, Washington Commanders are reeling from back-to-back losses. Considering that, Durant vented out his frustration, saying:

"I think the first half we played good ball, but the Steelers and the Cowboys, I feel like we were supposed to win those games."

Furthermore, addressing the fact how the Commanders' playoff hopes are slipping away, Durant added:

"I’ve been telling you this since early in the season—that it’s gonna be ups and downs throughout the season. It’s gonna be some games where we may struggle, and we’ll see how we bounce back."

That said, Kevin Durant understands that struggles like this are just a part of the game.

Washington Commanders' chances of making it in the NFL playoffs

Phoenix Suns star, Kevin Durant's favorite NFL team (7-5) entered Week 10 with high hopes after a 7-2 start to the 2024 season.

However, the losses against the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Philadelphia Eagles were major red flags. Now that they have been defeated by the Cowboys, the chances look slim for the team to punch the ticket to the playoffs, as per ESPN’s Dan Graziano.

All because of recent struggles like poor special teams play, undisciplined penalties, and crucial turnovers. All these are correctable though. Given that there is a bye week upcoming, the team can restrategize and come back fresh. Hence next few weeks will be crucial for the Commanders to turn things around in their favor.
