LeBron James lauds Patrick Mahomes' heroic Super Bowl win despite 'f**ked up ankle' (Video)

When two GOATs meet, the level of respect between them is always huge. On this occasion, you can ask Patrick Mahomes and LeBron James about it.

Mahomes was sitting courtside as the LA Lakers beat the Dallas Mavericks 111-108 on Sunday, producing one of the biggest comeback wins of their history. During a break in the game, James looked behind and asked Mahomes, "You know what is playing with a f***ed up ankle, huh?"

LeBron, of course, was referring to the quarterback's injury during the NFL playoffs, which was aggravated during the Super Bowl after a tackle. The quarterback was able to continue – and not only that, he also led the Kansas City Chiefs to a 10-point comeback in the second half to win his second championship ring.

James has been declared out for "at least two weeks" as the Lakers reassess the situation with his foot.

What happened to Patrick Mahomes in the Super Bowl?

Mahomes limped off the field during the Super Bowl after a hit by Philadelphia Eagles linebacker T.J. Edwards as he tried to escape and get to the first down mark.

The quarterback went to the bench and spoke with coach Andy Reid as he was looking at a tablet. He then tried to walk it off but was clearly in pain.

He initially suffered a high-ankle sprain during the AFC divisional-round game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He played in the AFC championship game against the Cincinnati Bengals, but his movement was seriously hampered. He appeared to be healthy at the start of the Super Bowl before re-injuring his ankle.

He also suffered an ankle injury the last time he played in a Super Bowl. Two seasons ago, he was severely hampered by an injury against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV, a game the Chiefs lost 31-9.

Thankfully for him and his team, he returned and played great through the whole time. The Chiefs beat the Eagles with a field goal in the final seconds to win 38-35, the second Super Bowl victory for Mahomes and Reid.
