During the New York Giants' season-opening loss to Minnesota, Giants rookie Malik Nabers caught five passes for 66 yards. Quarterback Daniel Jones finished the game 22-of-42 for 186 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions.
While Nabers was Jones' main target, the rookie first-round pick was not pleased with his team's result. In postgame interviews, Nabers threw his quarterback under the bus, saying he wasn't sure what Jones saw in the pocket.
Speaking on The Facility, former NFL running back LeSean McCoy told the panel he believes Nabers doesn't want to play with Jones. He said he felt those vibes when he spoke to Nabers at this year's rookie symposium.
McCoy said:

"I had a chance to talk to him at the symposium, and we're just talking... and he didn't say this, but he wasn't super excited to play for Daniel Jones. But it's like, Yo, my quarterback is like, he looked at me like what the f*** am I supposed to do with him? And that's my thing. If I'm a teammate, I am not happy to play Sundays with this guy."
Malik Nabers made interesting comments about Daniel Jones following the New York Giants' season-opening loss
Following the New York Giants' Week 1 loss to Minnesota, Nabers appeared disgruntled.
When asked to assess Jones, Nabers said he wasn't sure what his quarterback experienced in the pocket, but he did his job by trying to get open. He also felt Jones wasn't looking in his direction that much.
Nabers said:
"I mean no, I don't really know what's going on back there. I'm getting out on my routes and just trying to make a play, trying to find him and trying to help him make a better throw. I was just doing my job, that's all I can do."
Malik Nabers dropped a pass in the game and said his fellow receivers must become more reliable. He admitted that he made a mistake by dropping the pass.
As a younger team with a question mark at quarterback, New York will experience growing pains. However, fortunes can quickly change in the NFL. New York hopes to bounce back from their Week 1 loss in Week 2 against the Washington Commanders.
