The Cleveland Browns aren't in a good spot after defensive end Jadeveon Clowney's comments on the team's official website. Clowney, the former Houston Texan, stated earlier in the week that he was 95 percent sure that he will not be back with the team next year.

The defensive end was then sent home from practice over the comments. His defensive teammate Myles Garrett addressed the issues surrounding Clowney today, with the franchise currently still in the headlines for the wrong reasons.

What are the current Super Bowl odds?

Garrett was asked if he would welcome back Jadeveon Clowney if the chance presented itself and his response was this:

“We just want volunteers, not hostages."

Given the type of season the Browns have had, especially with Deshaun Watson's inclusion into the team, Cleveland has again wasted yet another season.

Currently with a 7-9 record and bottom of the AFC North, Cleveland has likely done as well as expected, having missed Watson for the first 11 games. But now, with off-field issues being made public and sending a player home, the season that has ended with missing the postseason is getting even more messy.

For the most part, when a player knows his future is elsewhere, they will usually be coy on what their future plans are. This is to keep teams in the dark and then go about their business in the offseason while still having a working relationship with their current team.

The 29-year-old essentially burned that bridge.

Although only on a one-year, $10 million deal with the Browns, Jadeveon Clowney will likely now be on the lookout for another team. However, it is not known how many will be interested. In 12 games, he totalled just two sacks and a forced fumble.

With the Watson situation still hanging over the franchise’s head, it seems the Browns just can't stay away from bad publicity, although its nothing new for the franchise.

Just where the defensive end will play his football next year is unknown, but one thing we know for sure - it won't be in Cleveland.
