Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has confirmed that his thumb injury is a little worse than what many believe it to be. It's broken. The 38-year-old reportedly hurt his thumb on the last play of the Week 5 outing against the New York Giants, per Matt Schneidman.

Rodgers was a guest on the Pat McAfee show this week and didn't use his injury as an excuse for Green Bay's poor form over the last six weeks. Now that reports of his thumb being broken have emerged, however, the situation seems to be taking on a different look.

After his chat with the media, it did not take long for NFL fans to come and give their thoughts on Aaron Rodgers' injury. One fan went as far as saying the quarterback is fine and that he just wants to be in the spotlight every week.

"His thumb is fine bro just wants to on headlines every week."

We know that Rodgers has been hampered by the injury, but as the man himself said, it's not an excuse. Other fans also commented on the issue, with many not giving the signal caller an out.

The Green Bay Packers will take on the 9-1 Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football. The game presents their last chance to keep their faint playoff hopes alive.

The thumb injury has clearly impacted Aaron Rodgers, but with reaching the playoffs still a possibility, albeit a remote one, he likely will be starting. If the Packers drop their next couple of games, then there could potentially be reason to sit the 38-year-old for the rest of the season.

Why? One, to let his thumb injury heal and two, to give Jordan Love some more experience as he will likely take over from the two-time MVP when he retires.

The 2022 season has been poor for Green Bay and with their superstar now dealing with a broken thumb, the pain looks set to get worse.
