He led the team to a 9-8 record and a playoff appearance.Smith led the league with his 69.8% completion percentage, while throwing for 4,282 yards, 30 touchdowns, 11 interceptions and a 100.9 passer rating.Christian McCaffrey played in just seven games last season after suffering injuries to his hamstring and ankle that kept him sidelined. He scored just two total touchdowns last season while recording less than 800 yards. This season, he recorded over 1,700 total yards while scoring 12 touchdowns, playing for two different teams as he was traded to the 49ers mid-season.Saquon Barkley has played in three more games since last season but has drastically improved his numbers. He had the worst season of his career a year ago as he recorded 593 rushing yards, two touchdowns, 263 receiving yards and two touchdowns.This season, he has recorded 1,312 rushing yards, 10 touchdowns and 338 receiving yards.The winners will be announced on Thursday, Feb. 9, during the NFL Honors.
