On Sunday, in an NFC North battle against the Minnesota Vikings, he showed a glimpse of being an elite quarterback. With a little over three minutes remaining in the first quarter, the game was tied at zero, and Williams showed that he could make a play while under pressure.

While off balance and his leg in the air, Williams completed a hump pass to D'Andre Swift on a second and twelve.

Some NFL fans said that once he finds consistency, he could be one of the better quarterbacks in the league. Some admitted to criticizing the quarterback but gave him credit in Sunday's game for making a play happen against the Minnesota Vikings.

"All he needs is consistency, he can make any throw on the field," one fan said.
"I give this guy a lot of c**p but that was a dime," a fan said.

Fans agreed that Williams' learning curve in the NFL was the issue at first. Now, halfway through the season, he seems to get a handle on things.

"People counted this kid out after a 7 game stretch stupid as hell. If you can’t see his talent you’re stupid every issue he has including accuracy sometimes can be fixed. Chicago yall got one," another fan said.

"Ok this was actually tremendous," another fan said.

Caleb Williams credited chemistry with Rome Odunze for success

The Chicago Bears drafted Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft. On Wednesday, Williams told reporters that his off-field friendship with Odunze has helped their chemistry on the field.

"It's just all of the above, from hanging out to playing video games with each other to communicating and coming in at the same time and learning all this together, helping each other throughout this time," Williams said. "Being able to have all these little moments, when those big moments happen, you kind of have an idea, trust and belief that you're all on the same page."

As a rookie quarterback, having a reliable weapon in the offensive is an advantage.
