Lamar Jackson has established himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL since the Baltimore Ravens drafted him with the No. 32 pick in 2018. Jackson has earned two MVP awards, and the Ravens are reportedly aiming to keep him at the franchise for many more years.
However, NFL insider Jeremy Fowler has said that Baltimore will likely focus on negotiating Jackson's extension that can help the team financially, like the Buffalo Bills did with quarterback Josh Allen.
"He has several years left on his contract," Fowler said on Saturday on 'NFL on ESPN' (Time stamp: 5:26). "But the Ravens are essentially saying, 'We’re trying to get in front of this massive quarterback money.' This is a ballooning market, it’s at $60 million for the top guys, it’s going to go beyond that.

"So, the Ravens are taking a page out of what the Bills did this offseason with Josh Allen. Josh Allen had several years left on his deal. They tried to get in front of things, 'let’s give you a big raise—about 30% close to that per year.' They gave him a new six-year, $330 million contract back in March."

Jackson signed a five-year, $260 million contract extension in 2023. His deal includes an annual average salary of $53 million.
However, the Dallas Cowboys broke records last year when they signed QB Dak Prescott to a four-year, $240 million deal, which averages $60 million per year.
Meanwhile, Allen's six-year, $330 million deal with Buffalo tallies up to $55 million per year.
It will be interesting to see how the Ravens work their way around trying to extend Jackson's contract.
Ravens HC John Harbaugh discusses Lamar Jackson's absence at OTAs

When Lamar Jackson missed the second week of voluntary organized team activities, Ravens coach John Harbaugh addressed the QB's absence.
"You measure any player, how they play," Harbaugh said, via team transcript. "I'm not measuring the attendance. It's a voluntary camp, so I'm not measuring that. I love being out here, and I think all the players do. And when Lamar's out here, I promise you, he loves being out here."
Jackson has racked up 20,059 passing yards, 166 touchdowns, 49 interceptions and 33 rushing TDs across his regular-season career with the Ravens. He has led them to the playoffs in six of his seven seasons in the NFL.
While Lamar Jackson has earned four Pro Bowl honors in Baltimore, he will want to add a Super Bowl title to his list of growing accolades.
