NFL Rumors: Eagles urged to look at Pro Bowl WR who replaced Odell Beckham Jr.

Jalen Hurts could get another weapon to work with next season

The wide receiver market this offseason is headlined by Odell Beckham Jr. and DeAndre Hopkins. Despite this, none of them have found a new home, as teams are treading carefully with both receivers.

Nevertheless, one wide receiver who is also on the market could find a new team shortly. The Philadelphia Eagles, who were defeated in the Super Bowl last season, may want to add a seasoned wide receiver to their roster.

Philly Voice’s Jimmy Kempski has tipped the franchise to take a look at former New York Giants receiver Kenny Golladay.

Golladay was expected to fill the void of Odell Beckham Jr. in New York. Unfortunately, the move didn't go well for him.

Golladay has often been criticized for his four-year, $72 million contract with the New York Giants, as he hasn't been able to put up good numbers. In the past two seasons with the Giants, Golladay had 43 catches for 602 yards and scored just one touchdown in 26 games.

The only touchdown of his career with the Giants came against the Philadelphia Eagles. Here's what Jimmy Kempski said about how Kenny Golladay could be useful for Jalen Hurts' offense:

"As far as a potential role, Golladay was thought of as a good blocker in his time in Detroit. If he is willing to take on a Zach Pascal-like role, he could actually be a significant upgrade."

Since Golladay is currently a free agent, the Eagles could take a punt at him if they feel like he could fit well into their system. However, if the franchise doesn't go that way, they might look to add a receiver via the 2023 NFL draft.

Odell Beckham Jr. has held conversations with various teams around the league, and it was reported that the Baltimore Ravens have offered him a contract as well.

Apart from the Ravens, the New York Jets and the Kansas City Chiefs also remain quite interested in getting OBJ, who could be forced to sign a prove-it deal once again.

Apart from OBJ, DeAndre Hopkins has been linked with multiple teams as well, and it will be interesting to see where they both ultimately end up.
