Parris Campbell Giants contract: How much will former Colts WR earn in New York?

New York Giants WR Parris Campbell

Parris Campbell was signed to a contract to join the New York Giants during the 2023 NFL offseason. He became a free agent after his previous contract expired with the Indianapolis Colts at the conclusion of the 2022 NFL season.

His brand new deal is worth up to a maximum of $6.7 million and keeps him under contract in New York for just one year. The free agent wide receiver will make $1.4 million in guaranteed money for the 2023 NFL season and will hit free agency once again at the conclusion of the year.

His base salary will sit at an even $3 million, including a $1.5 million signing bonus. Campbell can earn $1.7 million per game so that he remains on the Giants' roster this season, plus an additional $2 million in various incentives.

Parris Campbell spent each of the first four years of his career with the Colts, but broke out in a big way during the 2023 NFL season. He recorded more receptions, yards, and touchdowns in 2023 than he did in the previous three seasons combined.

The breakout year likely led to the Giants signing Parris Campbell to help boost their offense. They entered the 2023 NFL offseason in desparate need of weapons in the passing game, especially after signing quarterback Daniel Jones to a new contract as well.

The New York Giants averaged just 185.7 passing yards per game during the 2022 NFL season, the seventh-fewest among all teams. Their passing offense represents one of their biggest weaknesses, despite making an appearance in the NFL Playoffs last year.

They made it clear that they are looking to improve on this situation during the 2023 NFL offseason.

The Giants moved on from Kenny Golladay, a disastrous acquisition that failed to provide them with a potential number-one receiving option. They began upgrading their offensive weapons by acquiring Darren Waller via trade with the Las Vegas Raiders and followed that up by adding Parris Campbell during the free agency period.

After signing Daniel Jones to a brand new four-year contract, the organization is making a conscious effort to surround their franchise quarterback with a more favorable situation.

He recorded the best season of his career in his first year with new head coach Brian Daboll and will look to take another step forward in the 2023 NFL season.
