He was at it again in Game 1 against the OKC Thunder on Thursday night, capping off a comeback in the fourth quarter by hitting a game-winning shot with just fractions of a second remaining on the clock. His team entered this series as massive underdogs, making his late-game heroics even more impressive.

Several NFL stars commented on Tyrese Haliburton's play on social media, as they must have been watching along in the middle of their offseason. Among those impressed were Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons. They both posted on their X accounts within minutes of the superstar point guard hitting the shot.

Mahomes had a simple response, shouting out his nickname:

Parsons' post was a quoted reply to his Cowboys teammate, CeeDee Lamb, who shared "What the Haliiiii" after the game-winner:

Most NFL players have more free time than usual right now in the middle of the offseason, with training camps not even open yet. Many teams are conducting OTAs and other offseason workouts, but official preparations for the 2025 NFL season have yet to ramp up as they will in the next couple of months.

This may have contributed to why so many stars had their eyes on Game 1 of the NBA Finals, including Micah Parsons and Patrick Mahomes. Lucky for them, they got to experience an epic game with an incredible comeback as Tyrese Haliburton's star continues to rise.

The feeling is apparently mutual, as Haliburton also roots for Purdy and has even been spotted wearing his 49ers jersey. Their relationship goes back to their collegiate careers with the Iowa State Cyclones when both of them attended the university at the same time.

They now apparently root for each other, and while Purdy came up short in his first championship appearance, it will be interesting to see how Haliburton's plays out this year.
