Peyton and Eli Manning have had quite a few famous guests on their ManningCast, which airs on certain weeks for Monday Night Football. None of them are as famous as one, though.

Former President Barack Obama joined the broadcast, but it was not the first time he'd been asked. Nor was it the first time the Super Bowl-winning brothers had asked a former President. When asked by USA Today, Peyton Manning said:

"I probably would say President Obama. We tried to get him on last year and I think like a lot of people he had no clue what this thing was. So he passed, which I understood. We offered it to President Obama and President Bush and it just wasn’t the right time."

He then confirmed that it was a more appropriate time for the former President to join the broadcast:

"We were thrilled he said yes. He was great. He was engaging. You can tell that he knows football. The one thing in common with all the guests is that they have to have a real connection to football."

He also went on to extol the former President's love for the game:

"They have to love it, have a passion for it. I thought President Obama made that very clear for lots of sports, but he likes football, he certainly loves Chicago sports, and the fact that he got to talk about his voting initiative as well as a touchdown, if you will."

The brothers will be hard-pressed to find a more famous guest for their infamous Monday night broadcasts.

What is the remaining ManningCast schedule?

The remaining ManningCast schedule, per ESPN, looks like this:

  • Week 13: Saints at Buccaneers (ESPN2)
  • Week 14: Patriots at Cardinals (ESPN2)
  • Week 15: Rams at Packers (ESPN2, ESPN+)

They will also be a part of Wild Card Weekend, but the dates and times for those games are still to be decided.

There will be plenty of top notch guests, but it will be difficult to top Obama. With an often unexpected but always celebrity cast, the show is well worth watching out for. Guests are not revealed until the day of the broadcast in most cases, so check back in Week 13 to see who will grace Monday Night Football.
