The Las Vegas Raiders have decided to bench their franchise quarterback Derek Carr. He will sit out the remaining two games of the season, and Jarrett Stidham will step in his place, the team announced on Wednesday.

The Raiders want to see more of Stidham and appear to have decided to move on from Carr. Despite the devastating news of getting benched, Joy Taylor believes this could be a blessing in disguise for Carr.

Here's what Joy Taylor said about Carr and the Las Vegas Raiders:

"Derek Carr's had to deal with a lot and I really think Derek Carr is great, because for most of this, he's been good, and when you consider everything he's had to deal with. Imagine if he was in a functional situation with like the same coach and an organization that isn't actively hustling backwards."

Taylor added:

"It's wild that they're doing this to Derek Carr, and Derek, sometimes it's a blessing God gives the most to his strongest soldiers. This is a blessing get up out of there, go somewhere else, relax,"

She continued:

"You're not gonna get those Nevada taxes now everywhere you go, but you are gonna get to go somewhere that wants you that needs you. And you're gonna get an opportunity to show that this function is not because of you."

There is little doubt that the Las Vegas Raiders have been a very troubled franchise and Carr has done a great job in still keeping them relevant.

After numerous head coaching changes, and with all that went on last season with Henry Ruggs III and John Gruden, Carr was still able to take the Raiders to the playoffs.

If the franchise isn't able to land either Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers next season, they could be in a lot of trouble.

With Carr set to be moved off by the Raiders through trade or release, numerous franchises will be interested in him.

Teams like the New York Jets, New York Giants, Washington Commanders, and the Atlanta Falcons could be very keen to bring him in. If he ends up playing for the New York Jets that would likely be the best possible scenario for him.

The Jets have a pretty good roster and are an elite quarterback away from making some noise in the AFC. It will be intriguing to see where Carr ends up.
