Rams QB today: Is Matthew Stafford playing tonight vs Chiefs?

Will the quarterback suit up tonight?

Matthew Stafford entered concussion protocol after the Los Angeles Rams game two weeks ago. He progressed throughout the week and was able to make the start and play against the New Orleans Saints.

However, in the second half of the game, he received another concussion and did not return. Bryce Perkins entered in relief but was unable to lead the comeback and the Rams and their playoff hopes fell once again.

With a key matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs coming up, is he going to be able to give it a go?

Is Matthew Stafford playing tonight?

The Rams' star and Super Bowl champion is not playing tonight. NFL insider Ian Rapoport has confirmed that he will not be active for the Rams tonight, but that he isn't being shut down for the season.

Where is Matthew Stafford playing tonight?

The quarterback was healthy enough to be out and about during practice this week, so expect him to be on the sidelines, perhaps even with a headset. He'll likely be as involved as an inactive player can be.

Matthew Stafford's Fantasy Football Update and Predictions

Since he is ruled out, he has no projections on any fantasy app. He should not be in any starting lineups, especially as the playoffs loom. Teams cannot afford to enter a week without a quarterback at this critical juncture.

In his stead, Bryce Perkins is expected to score about 13 points with standard scoring. He's not predicted to have a particularly excellent fantasy day, so he's probably not the best option, either.

Matthew Stafford Alternative Picks For Your Fantasy Team

Since three games were played on Thursday, it's tough to find a good quarterback this late in the week. However, there are options out there.

Jacoby Brissett will be making what is likely to be his final start of the year this week and is projected to score upwards of 16 points. He's available in over 80% of ESPN leagues.

Mike White is starting in place of Zach Wilson and is projected to score 13.7, so a little bit more than Perkins.

Kenny Pickett, Ryan Tannehill and Trevor Lawrence (only rostered in 58.8% of leagues) are other options, too.
