Stefon Diggs sends 2-word reaction to buzz around wearing custom "Snoop" earrings to Patriots minicamp

Stefon Diggs participated in his first minicamp with the New England Patriots. In photos taken last week, Diggs wore a custom earring that read "Snoop." It led many fans to question why he had it on.

On Saturday, Blitzfits on Instagram gave some insight on the "Snoop" reference.

The post included a quote from Diggs, revealing that when he was a child, his mother nicknamed him "Snoop".

"My Mom nicknamed me that (Snoop) when I was a kid," Diggs said.

The earring is a nod to his mom and a term of endearment. When Diggs shared the post on his account, he gave a shoutout to his mother.

"Stephanie's son..." Diggs wrote.

Diggs also debuted his new jersey number during minicamp. The wide receiver, who wore No. 14 with the Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings, chose No. 1 with the Houston Texans in 2024. In 2025, he will wear the No. 8 jersey.

Stefon Diggs addressed controversial boat video that went viral

New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs created a stir in May when he was on a boat with his girlfriend, rapper Cardi B. In the video, he was with a group of women off the coast of Miami, and was holding a pink, crystalized substance.

While speaking to reporters during minicamp, he asked if he could give his take on the viral boat moment. Diggs explained that while he wants to be open with reporters, he is choosing to keep his private life private.

"I want to be as candid with you guys as possible," Diggs said on Tuesday. "But I kind of, like, have a thing where I don't talk about my personal life with people I don't know personally. I'm pretty sure, everybody here — men and women — are great people, but I kind of keep my personal life personal."

Patriots coach Mike Vrabel revealed after the incident that he spoke to Diggs. The wide receiver echoed that sentiment and said that while they spoke, he wouldn't share what the discussion was about.
