While the details about the offseason saga continue to emerge, Jones addressed the future of wide receiver George Pickens after his solid performance in Sunday's 40-40 tie against the Packers.

Jones talked about Pickens' work ethic and praised the WR for being an "exemplary" teammate on Tuesday's appearance on "105.3 The Fan."

"He's an exemplary teammate. He's exemplary in his work preparation. You can see the results of that out there Sunday.”

Jones also talked about Pickens' future, hinting at an extension:

“I’m proud to tell you that we’ve got some outstanding structure in our cap space that will allow us to do a lot of things that I didn’t think (we could) at this time last year. … We got it. We paid a price for it. … We can do it now.”

George Pickens was picked by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second round of the 2022 NFL draft and was traded to the Cowboys earlier this year. His rookie deal with the Steelers ends at the end of the season.

Dak Prescott praised George Pickens for his solid Week 4 performance

George Pickens stepped up to be quarterback Dak Prescott's top weapon in CeeDee Lamb's absence on Sunday. Pickens had eight catches for 134 yards and two touchdowns.

During the first half, Pickens grabbed a 28-yard lob from Prescott by shrugging off Nate Hobbs and Evan Williams. His play received praise from the veteran quarterback.

"That’s what he’s done,” Prescott said. “Look at his film, look at his résumé, whether it’s just been in the months that he’s been here or the time he had in Pittsburgh, that’s what he does. That’s who he is.”

With Lamb expected to be out until Week 6, Pickens' output will be crucial for the Cowboys.
