The New York Jets and Buffalo Bills faced off in an AFC East matchup on Monday night. Buffalo edged out New York (23-20) on a chilly night at MetLife Stadium.

Super Bowl champion cornerback Richard Sherman took to X during the game to express his disgust with the officiating crew. Sherman said the officials were biased and their calls didn't make sense.

"These refs are bias tonight. I don’t use that lightly but it’s apparent. These aren’t my teams but these calls don’t make sense. I see similar contact from buffalo DBs and nothing being called."-Richard Sherman on X.

Sherman's comments were about four pass interference calls made during the game. There were a total of 22 penalties, and while it wasn't a record, it was significant in just four quarters of play.

Jets' Aaron Rodgers called penalties 'ridiculous'

A notable moment in Monday night's game occurred during the third quarter. With 9:38 remaining, Bills' edge rusher A.J. Epenesa was fouled for unnecessary roughness on Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Rodgers even questioned the validity of the call in the postgame press conference. He said there were some moments where he questioned the officials, which is an interesting perspective when many believe he and the Jets were favored by the referees.

He said that Espenesa shouldn't have been called for unnecessary roughness and even made a reference to the animated comedy "South Park."

"It seemed a little ridiculous," Rodgers said. "Some of them seemed really bad, including the roughing passer on me. That's not roughing the passer. We might as well play Sarcastaball if we're going to call those things. And I thought the one on Kinlaw was not roughing the passer, either."

Surprisingly, of the 22 penalties called, each team had 11.

The Jets parted ways with coach Robert Saleh last week after consecutive losses and they are 2-4 so far this season.
