Travis and Jason Kelce are set to become the first pair of brothers to ever compete in the Super Bowl against one another when the Philadelphia Eagles play the Kansas City Chiefs next weekend.
Donna Kelce, the duo's mother, has been tabbed by the NFL world to perform the coin toss as she's the first mother to see her two children face off in the biggest game in American sports.
Despite it being unlikely, the brothers asked their mother if she'd even do it if the petition that is going around ended up being successful.
Travis asked:
"Did you know, Mom, that there is a petition trying to get you to be the honorary coin flip for the start of the Super Bowl? Mom, have you ever coin flipped?"
When Donna said she hadn't, Jason responded:
"That's my big concern, honestly. I just don't know, you've never done it ever?"
Donna expounded:
"Yeah, I have. Here's the thing. There are so many legends and so many people that have put blood, sweat and tears on that field and for a mom that's never played football? I don't think that's the right place for her."
Jason said:
"I think you're discounting moms. All moms are legendary."
She expressed concern that she might distract her sons ahead of one of the biggest games of their lives. She did admit that she would be fine flipping the coin if the two of them were fine with it.
Travis ended saying:
"I'll call Roger. I'll call him up."
It remains pretty unlikely that the coin toss will be performed by their mother, but if the petition gets enough traction, it certainly can't be ruled out.
