JK Dobbins isn't taking his exit from the LA Chargers personally, not even after joining divisional rivals Denver Broncos. The veteran running back will play for his third team in the league after spending three seasons with the Baltimore Ravens ahead of his arrival at SoFi Stadium.
Talking with reporters on Wednesday, the 26-year-old discussed the unrestricted free agent tender the Chargers put on him. This tender granted them exclusive negotiating rights with the running back if he didn't sign a new deal somewhere else by July 22. The Broncos acted quickly on it and secured a player who excites a lot of fans.
JK Dobbins shared his feelings on the tender, while issuing a warning to Los Angeles, a team he'll see twice with his new franchise.

"I always have a chip on my shoulder," Dobbins said. "But yeah, that was a little weird, but it's business, you know? It is for my agent to handle. Good luck to them. I’m a Bronco now. They’ve got to see me twice a year.

"That's about all, Tony. I'm gonna have a chip on my shoulder, of course, but I am here and I'm worried about winning. I don't want to just beat the Chargers. I want to get a ring, 'cause I’ve been in the playoffs every year I’ve played. I’m tired of losing in them. That's my goal, to bring in Super Bowl to this city and just be a blessing to the community as well."
The Broncos visit the Chargers on Sept. 21 in a Week 3 duel scheduled at 4:05 p.m. ET. Then, they'll host Justin Herbert, Jim Harbaugh and Co. at Empower Field at Mile High in Week 18.
Sean Payton talks about JK Dobbins' abilities
After the Broncos met with JK Dobbins, coach Sean Payton shared his thoughts on the team potentially adding the running back.
“Another good football player that we’ve seen firsthand," Payton said. "I’ve seen for a while. The importance of that position group. We really like the group right now we’re working with, it’s just another opportunity to possibly bring in another good football player to help us win.”
Denver made it to the postseason last year, alongside Dobbins' Chargers. Neither team could move past the wild card round, but they went out and added intriguing pieces to compete this campaign. It remains to be seen if Dobbins achieves his championship goal.
