"This aged well" - NFL analyst's way-too-early take on Brock Purdy's playoff debut gets ripped apart by fans

NFC Wild Card Playoffs - Seattle Seahawks v San Francisco 49ers

Brock Purdy had somewhat of a slow start during his playoff debut with the San Francisco 49ers, but he came back inspired in the second half to lead his team to an easy 41-24 win over the Seattle Seahawks, advancing to the divisional round.

While Purdy finished the game with excellent stats, completing 18 of 30 passes for 332 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions, his slow start was a full plate for analysts to take a cheap shot at the rookie while he was still finding himself in the game.

Obviously, after he got back to his best level, and the 49ers ran away with the game, the analysts were roasted for what they had said during the second quarter

Perhaps analysts should make sure to wait until the end of the game before firing out critical tweets about a given performance.

Purdy was amazing in the second half and the offense clicked easily following some adjustments by Kyle Shanahan. For now, San Francisco needs to celebrate and wait, as they'll only know their next opponent on Sunday - or even Monday.

Who can Brock Purdy and the 49ers face in the playoffs next?

San Francisco needs to wait at least until Sunday to find out their next opponent in the NFC Divisional Round - and, depending on who wins the game, there's going to be another day of waiting until they discover.

The game that determines everything is between the Minnesota Vikings and the New York Giants. If the Vikings win this game, then it's all clear: the Vikings will travel to San Francisco and play the 49ers on Saturday, giving the winner of that game six days between one game and another.

But if the Giants win, then the 49ers will play the winner of Monday Night Football between the Dallas Cowboys and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If New York upsets Minnesota, then they're automatically going to Philadelphia to play the Eagles, which means that San Francisco will get whoever wins the final game.

The 49ers will play the Divisional Round at home, regardless of their opponent.
