Linebacker Jihaad Campbell declared for the 2025 NFL draft and ended up going in the first round to the Philadelphia Eagles with the No. 31 pick. Now, the former Alabama star has finalized his rookie deal with the franchise.
On Wednesday, NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported that the Eagles and Campbell have decided on the terms of his rookie contract: a four-year, fully guaranteed deal that also includes a fifth-year option.
With this contract, Campbell becomes the 28th first-round draftee since April to sign their rookie contract.

"The #Eagles agreed to terms with No.31 overall pick Jihaad Campbell on his four-year, $14,903,574 fully guaranteed deal with a fifth-year option. Only four of the 32 first-round picks are unsigned as minicamp wraps up," Pelissero wrote on X/Twitter.

Fans were quick to share their thoughts and reactions to the rookie linebacker's first contract with the Eagles on X:
"This kid is gonna be soooo MONSTER!!! When his injury heals up the league is gonna be requesting a Mercy rule during next ownership meeting," one fan commented.
"What a great contract," another fan said.
"Can't wait to see him and Baun ball out together and when Nakobe Dean comes we stacked at LB," a fan wrote.
"Thank god! Let's go!" another fan added.
"Congrats rook," one fan commented.
Campbell spent three seasons at the collegiate level with the Alabama Crimson Tide. He appeared in 35 total games and tallied 184 tackles, 5.5 sacks, two interceptions and 16 tackles for loss. He was honored as a First-Team All-SEC selection while Alabama finished with a 9-4 campaign last season.
Super Bowl LIX champ shares his thoughts about Jihaad Campbell
In March, the Eagles finalized a contract extension with linebacker Zack Baun. He agreed to a three-year deal worth $51 million. Thus, Baun is now expected to take the field with Campbell after winning the Super Bowl last season.
After Campbell signed his rookie contract, Baun shared his thoughts on the linebacker. He pointed out the similarities between him and the ex-Alabama star.
"He's a big dude," Campbell said via SI.com. "Similar to myself, a versatile guy who can do a lot of different things. Just starting to see him move around a little bit- the dude can move. And he's impressively smart on the board as well."
Jihaad Campbell is currently rehabilitating from left shoulder surgery he had this offseason. This was to address a torn labrum that was a factor in him going as the No. 31 pick. Head coach Nick Sirianni has not provided a timeline for the rookie's recovery, and the team is not expected to rush him to get ready for the start of the 2025 season.
