The New York Jets are expected to land Green Bay Packers Aaron Rodgers at any time. The Jets were recently given permission by the Packers to meet and speak with Rodgers and the Jets brass flew out yesterday to talk in person.
The Jets made a few transactions to their roster this morning. They first released wide receiver Braxton Berrios. Then, they made a trade, but it wasn't a trade that everyone has been anticipating.
ESPN reporter Adam Schefter shook up the Jets' Twitter account for about 60 seconds. Directly after the release of Berrios, Schefter tweeted:

"And the Jets just agreed to a trade...."

This caused everyone to think the Jets had finally acquired Rodgers. A minute after Schefter's misleading tweet, he tweeted that the Jets had acquired Ravens' safety, Chuck Clark.
They agreed to send a 2024 seventh-round pick to Baltimore for the safety.
While this wasn't the news Jets fans were expecting to hear, Clark is a quality safety who could be a starter for the Jets.
NFL fans react to Adam Schefter dropping a false alarm on an Aaron Rodgers trade
Jets fans were fooled, devastated, and annoyed by Schefter's misleading Tweet.
Here's how fans reacted:
When will an Aaron Rodgers-Jets trade happen?

The Aaron Rodgers-Jets trade could happen at any moment. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that the ball is in Rodgers' court. If he wants to become a Jet, he'll tell Green Bay and then talks will begin.
It's been no secret that the Jets have been all-in on Rodgers this off-season. They passed on the chance to sign Derek Carr, hoping to get Rodgers via trade.
The Green Bay Packers are ready to move on from Rodgers and start their 2020 first-round pick, Jordan Love. A trade could come at any point.
