Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered a serious concussion on Thursday night during his team's game against the Buffalo Bills. NFL fans and analysts expressed their worry for the quarterback. NFL icon Brett Favre was one of those who expressed concern for Tagovailoa.

Favre took to X on Friday afternoon and shared his own experiences with multiple concussions that have led to his worries for the Dolphins QB.

"Like many of you, I saw the concussion Tua suffered last night. It was chilling to see him blackout, and I had flashbacks from the hits taken during my career. I just want to send prayers to Tua's family and hope he recovers soon."

Tagovailoa sustained the concussion with just over four minutes remaining in the third quarter of Thursday's primetime game. On a 4th and four play, Tagovailoa ran for the first time and lowered his head into Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin.

The Miami Dolphins quarterback then fell to the ground while his right hand was visibly making an involuntary motion.

Tagovailoa was able to walk off the field on his own which was a very good sign. His status moving forward is unknown and backup Skylar Thompson finished the game for the Dolphins

Mike McDaniel issued a plea on behalf of Tua Tagovailoa

Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel spoke to reporters on Friday morning about his team's 31-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills. His quarterback's health was clearly a major topic of conversation during the press availability.

Since this is Tagovailoa's fourth documented concussion, two of which occurred within four days in 2022, there were questions about his status. Speculation that this concussion could lead to a possible retirement has loomed since Thursday night.

McDaniel issued a plea to those speculating about Tua Tagovailoa's status:

“I'm gonna plead with everybody that does genuinely care, that that should be the last thing on your mind."

McDaniel isn't worried about Tagovailoa the quarterback, he has made it clear that he is more worried about him as a person and his livelihood off the football field.

The Miami Dolphins head coach believes that discussing his future is not what is best for Tagovailoa at this point, just hours after suffering a serious injury.

The 26-year-old signed a four-year deal worth $212 million which includes $167 million in guaranteed money.
