On December 9, 2021, the Denver Broncos mourned the loss of wide receiver Demaryius Thomas.

The 11-year veteran wideout passed away at his residence in Roswell, Georgia. It is believed that the cause of his death was due to a seizure, which was secondary to injuries he sustained in a 2019 car accident.

On today's episode of I Am Athlete, Thomas' former teammate Von Miller spoke about the loss and how much Thomas meant to him. He said:

“That's my boy man. You know life just be happening so fast. And I play with the Demaryius nine years. And that was like that's that's my dog. And whenever I think about it, and the way he passed, you know, even though it was unfortunate, I'm at peace, because that was really one of my the first teammates while I wasn't afraid to like love… I'm like, bro, I love you."

Miller added that he felt bad following Thomas' loss and talked more about how he was a good family man. He added:

"Not just love, you know, you walk out with like love, but I was like nah, DT. I love you. My mom and my dad, my mom and my dad, he kicked it with his mom and his daddy. I seen him develop over time. So, you know, obviously when somebody's passes you feel bad about it.”
