WATCH: Brock Purdy keeps up his immaculate form scoring first playoff TD for 49ers

Brock Purdy has not missed a beat in his first playoff game. The rookie quarterback remains at a high level and has just scored the first playoff touchdown of his career in a simple throw to Christian McCaffrey, opening the scoring for the San Francisco 49ers.

His second touchdown was a thing of beauty, evading pressure and keeping the play alive to find Elijah Mitchell free on the field side to get an easy touchdown and put the score in two possessions:

To put the game out of reach, Purdy found Deebo Samuel after a play-action and gave the ball to his receivers' hands for an easy completion. Samuel did the rest for a fantastic touchdown:

Purdy has been excellent since he took over from Jimmy Garoppolo following the veteran's injury, committing a small number of turnovers while keeping the offense smooth with easy completions and accurate passes. The 49ers are at risk of rookie mistakes, of course, but he has been an excellent quarterback so far.

San Francisco is one of the best teams in the league because of their strong defense and an excellent crop of playmakers, so they don't need Purdy to be a superstar. As long as he takes care of the ball and makes a few throws here and there, the 49ers are going to be a problem.

Who will Purdy and the 49ers face in the next round of the playoffs?

As the second seed, they will have to wait until the end of the first round to discover their next game. They'll play the second-lowest remaining seed.

If the Minnesota Vikings beat the New York Giants on Sunday, then the divisional round will be Vikings @ 49ers. The two teams played in the divisional round of the 2019 playoffs as well, and San Francisco trounced Minnesota 34-10.

If the Giants do beat the Vikings, though, they'll travel to Philadelphia to play the Eagles. In this case, the 49ers will have to wait until Monday to discover who they're going to play between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Dallas Cowboys.
