Jones was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in 2018, following which a dismissal was filed. However, the court has now reversed their previous dismissal.

The petition was first filed on September 14, 2020, with the woman keeping her identity hidden. As per the most recent update, Jones will have to appear in court on April 10, 2023.

The suit accuses Jones of kissing Jane Doe on the mouth and forcefully grabbing her against her will. As per the lawsuit, the Cowboys were aware of the misconduct, which took place at the Tom Landry Room at AT&T Stadium on September 16, 2018.

Jane Doe later moved to provide her name and other details, looking to further amend her lawsuit. The reversal decision took these matters into consideration, and saw her hesitance to identify herself as a flaw in her suit:

"We recognize that a trial court has broad discretion in ruling on special exceptions and in dismissing a case when a plaintiff fails to cure pleading defects," the ruling stated.

"But because appellant made a good faith attempt to amend her pleadings in response to the court's special exceptions order and no further special exceptions were made, the trial court abused its discretion in dismissing appellant's claims."

As of now, neither Jerry Jones nor the Cowboys have commented on the ruling.

Jerry Jones is also dealing with a paternity lawsuit

Last year, a 25-year-old woman named Alexandra Davis claimed Jones was her father. Allegedly, Davis' mother was sworn to secrecy, while Jones provided them with financial support. As the case progressed, Jones was asked to submit a paternity test.

Davis' attorneys asked for a test last October, which was finally addressed in December at the 302nd District Court:

“We feel good, but it’s just a step. This has been a lifelong ordeal to her. She just had the courage in the last year to find her way and decide that she doesn’t want to live in the shadows," said Andrew Bergman, Davis' attorney.

Jerry Jones, who has been married to Eugenia Jones since 1963, reportedly met Alexandra's mother when she was separated from her husband. The agreement between Jones and the mother was allegedly signed when Davis was a year old, with the Cowboys owner reportedly paying $375,000 for her silence.
