Joe Mixon is down and seemingly out after a horrific event on Sunday. Back in the offseason, the veteran running back surprised fans by being traded to the Houston Texans from the Cincinnati Bengals, whose recent run of success he had been a key part of.
In his new team, he stood to benefit from being part of a very monstrously strong offensive corps that also included fellw Pro Bowlers CJ Stroud and Stefon Diggs.
However, against the Chicago Bears, he hurt his ankle and had to be taken out of the game:
Up to that point, Mixon had carried the ball only seven times for 20 yards - a major dropoff from last week, when he had rushed 30 times for 159 yards and a touchdown.
The Texans have instead seemed to lean on the passing game, with Nico Collins catching six balls for 102 yards and a score.
