The New York Giants' attempt at a comeback win over the Dallas Cowboys fell just short, as visitors held on to win 20-15 at MetLife Stadium and improve to 2-2. To make matters worse for the home side, breakout star Malik Nabers suffered a head injury that could risk his participation in their next game.

Late in the fourth quarter, the Giants faced a 4th-and-6 and needed a perfect play to extend the drive. They had seemingly gotten it as quarterback Daniel Jones threw a dime to Nabers, who, at first glance had the ball in his palms.

However, the referees ruled that the ball had hit the turf and ruled the pass incomplete, leading to a turnover on downs. As disappointing as the outcome of the play was, the Giants' sideline was more concerned about the rookie wide receiver, who stayed on the floor after his valiant attempt to keep the Jets' drive alive.

He was helped off the field and into the blue medical tent and was later ruled out with a head injury. The Giants later confirmed that Nabers had suffered a concussion.

Losing the game and Nabers is a massive blow to the team, who are now 1-3.

How long will Malik Nabers be out for?

Nabers will be under the watchful eye of the team's doctors and will be evaluated daily over the next few days to determine how long he'll be out.

Fortunately for the Giants, their next trip, a trip to Seattle to take on the Seahawks, is 10 days away, giving the wide receiver a few extra days than a player who has suffered a concussion would normally have to recover.

Depending on the medical team's evaluation, the rookie could potentially be fit for the Giants' road game against the Seahawks in Week 5. At worst, he'll likely be back for their Week 6 outing against the Cincinnati Bengals at MetLife Stadium.

The team will wait with bated breath for a positive update about Nabers' health. The wide receiver has racked up 386 receiving yards and two touchdowns in his first four games for the Giants and is arguably already their most important player on offense.

The rookie's absence would be a massive blow to New York's odds of beating the Seahawks.
