Cam Newton's NFL career might be over, but the former Carolina Panthers quarterback has legal issues. His ex-girlfriend, a former stripper named Kia Proctor, is urging a judge to find the athlete in contempt of court for not paying over $20,000 in her utility bills, according to the website Black Enterprise.

His ex-girlfriend alleges that the quarterback had agreed to take care of utilities as the pair was embroiled in a legal battle for custody of their four children, but Newton did not pay for anything after their agreement, which included power, water and cable.

She says that the legal dispute is paused because the quarterback still has to submit to court documents such as his contracts with the NFL, his tax returns and the income from his businesses. Her forensic expert says that two of his business ventures are still not declared.

Documents obtained by Radar Online estimate how much he should pay her:

"The former NFL baller currently pays her $14,268 per month in alimony. Records from September 2020 to July 2022 reveal her cable bill to total $5,500 and $6,600 for internet. An additional $4,725 total her power charges and $4,532 for gas. All together, the charges run up to $21,357. That is not including the $2,000 in her legal fees she would like Newton to foot as well."

Their relationship ended after seven years due to the quarterback having another child with Instagram model La Reina Shaw. He spoke about it during an appearance on The Pivot Podcast:

"Honestly, it was a situation, a personal situation for me. My longtime girlfriend at the time (Proctor), you know, we had a family. And I made a mistake, I hurt her, and I jeopardized our family at that time and I had a child outside of our relationship."
