Leonard Williams was a standout defensive prospect when he attended the University of South Carolina.
He was an All-American with USC, two-time All-Pac-12 and the Pac-12 Defensive Freshman of the Year. He was seen as a potential lottery pick ahead of the 2015 NFL Draft, and he was just that, getting selected by the New York Jets with the sixth pick of the 2016 NFL draft.
Williams was thoroughly impressive in his rookie season, making seven sacks on the season. As recognition for his outstanding play, he was selected as a first-team alternate for the 2017 Pro Bowl.
He spent two more seasons with the Jets before moving across the pond to the New York Giants. He signed a three-year, $63 million contract with $45 million guaranteed and a signing bonus of $22.50 million ahead of the 2022 NFL season.
