New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson won the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Award for 2022 and was presented the award in last night's award ceremony. Wilson was drafted by the New York Jets as the tenth overall pick of the 2022 NFL draft and represented great value for a lottery pick.Wilson finished ahead of Seattle's Rookie running back, Kenneth Walker, who had a similarly impressive first season at the pro level. The margin of victory was small, as Wilson polled 156 votes, while Walker totaled 129. Further down the leaderboard was San Francisco 49ers breakout star Brock Purdy, who finished third in the Offensive Rookie of the Year voting.Wilson led all rookies with 411 yards after the catch in 2022, 179 more than the next-closest receiver in his class, per NFL Stats. He showcased his arsenal of skill moves while taking on defenders, and he regularly made them look silly in the process. Wilson had a solid first year in the NFL, and Jets fans will hope he gets even better moving forward.Ohio State Football@OhioStateFBYour 𝐀𝐏 𝐍𝐅𝐋 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫: @GarrettWilson_V 🥇1175200Your 𝐀𝐏 𝐍𝐅𝐋 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫: @GarrettWilson_V 🔥🥇 https://t.co/1h3BABdQQkHow did Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson perform in 2022 NFL season?Garrett Wilson had a great rookie season in the National Football League and earned the Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. He came into the season as an unpolished prospect out of Ohio State University but adapted to the NFL like a duck to water. Wilson was one of the lone bright spots on the Jets' offensive, and he caught passes from every QB who threw to him.The rapid wideout posted a stat line of 83 receptions, 1,103 receiving yards and four touchdowns for the 2022 NFL regular season. He added a much-needed bite to a team that seemed to be held back by the shortcomings of Zach Wilson. Garrett Wilson's Offensive Rookie of the Year Award was richly deserved, as the lottery pick carried the New York Jets on his young shoulders.Adam King@AdamKing10TV“This is a blessing and I’m so thankful”The former Buckeye Garrett Wilson takes home Offensive Rookie of the Year.
