Why is XFL investigating Orlando Guardians? Scandal threatens to engulf Dwayne Johnson's league

XFL's the Orlando Guardians find themselves in the middle of a rather interesting investigation after Quinten Dormady was accused of selling the team's plays to opponents before games.

As a result, the team conducted their own investigation and released Dormady after playing only two games with the team.

The XFL released a statement saying that the league is actively reveiwing the situation and has reinstated Dormady as of right now.

Here's the XFL's official statement:

"The league is actively reviewing a personnel issue regarding a player on the Orlando Guardians who was released from the team yesterday afternoon.
"Additional information on the situation was brought to the attention of the league overnight, and the league has reinstated the player while it conducts a formal investiagtion into the iusse. The situation is under review, and we will share more details regarding the findings as appropriate."

Dormady was Orlando's backup quarterback. He received some playing time on their debut as they benched Paxton Lynch. Dormade completed 12 of 18 passes for 142 yards, a touchdown and an interception.

He played five years of college football for the Tennessee Volunteers, Houston Cougars and Central Michigan Chippewas. He threw for 3,602 yards, 21 touchdowns and 15 interceptions while going 9-6 as a starter.

The XFL Week 3 schedule

While the league conducts their investigation on Dormady, the third week of the season will feature one game on Saturday and three games on Sunday.

To start the week, the Seattle Sea Dragons will host the Vegas Vipers on Saturday at 7:00 PM ET. Sunday's triple-header will begin with the St. Louis Battlehawks hosting the D.C. Defenders at 1:00 PM ET.

The Orlando Guardians will host the Arlington Renegades at 4 PM, and the San Antonio Brahmas will host the Houston Roughnecks at 8 PM to conclude Week 3.

As of right now, the Defenders, Battlehawks and Roughnecks boast undefeated 2-0 records.

The Sea Dragons, Guardians and Vipers are still looking for their first wins as the Renegades and Brahmas stand at 1-1.
