Will Levis 2023 NFL Draft Projection: Where could Kentucky QB land?

NFL Combine
Quarterback Will Levis of Kentucky

Kentucky Wildcats QB Will Levis is projected to be selected in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft. The former Penn State Nittany Lion is fresh off a productive two-year stint as a starting QB for the Wildcats and will expect his name to be called on day one of the 2023 draft.

Levis is a project quarterback, as he's not quite ready for the NFL yet, but he could be with proper training. Some of his talents include his arm strength, array of throws and deceptive short-burst ability. Many NFL scouts have compared him with Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills, another so-called project QB from college.

The elite prospect is likely going to land in an NFL team that has a top-ten pick in need of a project QB. As such, you can expect the Seattle Seahawks, Detroit Lions and the Las Vegas Raiders to be in the running for the Kentucky QB.

How has Will Levis performed in 2023 NFL Combine?

Will Levis has had a solid showing at the 2023 NFL Combine, showcasing some of the attributes scouts expected of him. One thing that would please Levis' fans is his rocket arm, a talent you cannot teach.

Levis threw the football at an astonishing 59 mph, which registered as the second-fastest throw of the day. The QB always had a rocket of an arm, but few people expected him to show that off on Saturday. Elite scouts were in attendance at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis and were left impressed.

Will Levis' college stats

Will Levis started his college career at Penn State University, a team that recruited him from Xavier High School.

He spent his first college year at Penn State as a redshirt due to the paucity of quarterbacks. His next two years as a Nittany Lion were spent as a backup to Sean Clifford. He accepted the role with many classes and even helped the school to a 2019 Cotton Bowl Classic game.

At Penn State University, he made 61 of 102 passes for 644 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. He also added 473 rushing yards and six touchdowns on the ground.

Levis moved to the University of Kentucky after his three-year Penn State Nittany Lions stint. He was made a starter at Kentucky and led the Wildcats to win records in both seasons as QB.

He started all 24 games he played over two seasons and led them to a 2022 Citrus Bowl in his final season. He put up a stat line of 5,876 passing yards, 46 touchdowns and 25 interceptions in 38 college games. He also added 742 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns on the ground.
