Will Tom Brady return to Buccaneers in 2023? GM Jason Licht won't rule out epic return just yet

Is Tom Brady really retired? Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht was asked this question on Tuesday morning in Indianapolis, Indiana.

While attending this week's NFL combine, he talked about whether he thought there could be yet another comeback for the seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback. The general manager said that last year he said he would leave the light on for Brady if he wanted to return, which he did.

“I said I’d leave a desk lamp on," Licht said. "Before Brady’s return last year, I said I’d leave the light on. Maybe it’s a flashlight this year. I don’t know. I think he’s gotten his mind set about retirement. I think he’s happy with his decision, and we’re happy for him.”

He said that although the quarterback returned after 40 days last year, he believes that Brady has officially come to grips with retirement and there won't be a repeat of last year.

Tom Brady may have only spent three seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before retiring, but his impact on the franchise won't be going anywhere. Although Brady is no longer with the Bucs, general manager Jason Licht answered quite a few questions about the newly retired quarterback.

The Bucs will hope that Brady's legacy to the game was passed down as Kyle Trask seems primed to be the starting quarterback in 2023.
