The NFL Network is one of the most popular destinations for football fans to get all of the information they want about the game. The network is owned by the NFL, including television stations, and provides around-the-clock coverage of everything related to the league. It also features some of the most famous personalities that cover the NFL, including writers, anchors, studio analysts, and more.

Some of the most popular names that fans have grown to love won't be around for the upcoming 2023 NFL season. The NFL Network has been making a series of layoffs during the 2023 offseason to apparently make budget cuts. This is a growing trend for many major companies across the country, and the NFL Network is among them.

Here are three of the most notable NFL Network layoffs this year to recognizable coverage personalities.

#1 Jim Trotter

Jim Trotter is one of the most decorated writers in the NFL. He has been with the NFL Network for the past five years before previously spending time with other major players, including ESPN and Sports Illustrated. He also previously served as the president of the highly-respected PFWA.

Trotter announced on his personal Twitter account that the NFL Media Group decided not to renew his contract that expired at the conclusion of the 2022 NFL season. He also confirmed that he will be pursuing new opportunities around the NFL, so fans likely haven't seen the last of his work.

#2 Rachel Bonnetta

Rachel Bonnetta gained a ton of momentum in the sports media world during her time with the NFL Network. At just 31 years old, many around the league believe she has a bright future ahead of her with many more opportunities to come. Apparently, they won't be with the network as she is one of their most recent layoffs.

Bonnetta was allegedly in the running to take over as a host on the popular show "Good Morning Football" to replace the departed star Kay Adams. This makes her layoff a bit surprising, but it's likely she will remain in the media in some form or another.

#3 Mike Giardi

Mike Giardi has been covering the New England Patriots for the NFL Network for the last five years. He has also been a recognized member of the NFL media for nearly two decades, covering the Patriots for NBC Sports since the 2009 season.

Giardi had the opportunity to cover the Super Bowl for the 2022 NFL season, but was apparently unaware that would be the last game he covered for the network. He was one of the most recent casualties during the 2023 NFL offseason as they continue to make major layoffs.
