NFL players asked to respect all words

The NFL is considering banning the use of the n-word. The decision needs approval by the NFL Competition Committee. Richard Sherman disagrees with this possible ban. During his interview with mmqb.com Sherman said, “[Banning the n-word] is an atrocious idea. It’s almost racist, to me. Why wouldn’t all curse words be banned then.”

Whatever happened to being a professional respectful to each another? It seems to be fading every day. Children look up to sports figures as role models, and the NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB need to set higher standards. Raise the bar in professionalism on being respectful. If you need to look professional presentable, why not speak it as well? You can’t ban the use of one word to make a point.

I’m not saying a hard hit can’t fuel words you wish not to say. I’m sure they joke in the locker rooms with each other exchanging words. What happened to the players and their lack of respect? Players need to consider having respect for each other, coaches and officials. It’s not about making money and having fun any more. Sports is turning into politics.

I decided to take out the words “professional” and “professionalism”. The words can be misleading.
