Patrick Mahomes could lose a major offensive weapon this offseason as Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman is currently a free agent. Further proof that the talented wideout could be on his way out of Kansas City is a recent quote tweet he posted.

The tweet was in response to former Chiefs teammate and current Browns player Juan Thornhill joining him to play with their quarterback Deshaun Watson. The Super Bowl-winning wideout seemed intrigued about the idea of going to Cleveland and playing with Thornhill.

Hardman was drafted by the Chiefs in the second round of the 2019 draft out of the University of Georgia. He became a target for Mahomes in his four seasons with Kansas City, getting 151 receptions for 2,088 yards and 16 touchdowns in that stretch.

The former Bulldogs star could now have the former Clemson Tiger star as his new quarterback in the upcoming season. Mecole Hardman and Deshaun Watson could be the duo that Cleveland Browns fans need in 2023.

Watson and the Browns offense have Amari Cooper as their number-one receiver. On the other hand, should Patrick Mahomes lose Hardman, how will the Kansas City Chiefs offense look without him?

The two-time NFL MVP will still have options if Hardman does decide to join Watson and the Browns this offseason. Kadarius Toney will likely be the number one receiver, and Skyy Moore could see a greater role in the offense for Kansas City. However, Mahomes will still have eight-time Pro Bowler Travis Kelce to sling the ball to.

General manager Brett Veach might still try to add a veteran receiver either through a trade or in free agency. He could seek to acquire wideout DeAndre Hopkins from the Arizona Cardinals. Hopkins had 717 yards and three touchdowns in nine games last season.

The question is, would Kansas City be willing to part with some draft pick(s) in a deal to make it happen? Another option would be Odell Beckham Jr., a highly sought-after target amongst many teams. Either way, we'll see if Patrick Mahomes has Hardman or not in the 2023 season.
