Potential Upset Of The Week - San Fransico 49ers vs Minnesota Vikings
Jimmy G era started last year with a bang. Winning five games in a row the Jimmy G show must have some factors work for them to upset the home field favs the Vikings. Jimmy Garoppolo has to outplay Kirk Cousins, the familiarity with the system and the player's edge goes to the San Fransico 49ers. Jimmy G has played more with his offence than Cousins has with Minnesota Vikings. Being Cousins first game as a Viking in the regular season and at home as well, he will be nervous and will take time to settle down, but if Garoppolo can keep going, he is good enough for 49ers to win.
The next factor is the 49ers secondary which is relatively young expect for their stud veteran Richard Sherman. If Sherman and his mates can slow down Diggs, Theilen and Rudolph, it could be a long night for the Vikings at home. Sherman has the potential to shut down whoever he is covering. The third and final thing that San Fransico 49ers must have goin for them is the run game. With Jerick McKinnon out and Matt Brieda taking over he must outplay Dalvin Cook on the other side. The thing that works in Brieda's angle is Cook was out most of the year last year and is coming in the season after a horrific injury and will be rusty in this game.
