Rachaad White's Week 10 fantasy outlook: Should you start the Buccaneers' rookie running back?

Rachaad White has not really been fantasy football relevant in the 2022 season, however, that might be about to change. With the Tampa Bay Buccaneers now sporting a 4-5 record, there may be a window of opportunity for the running back. There have been whispers of late that the Buccaneers might rely more on White going forward.

This would be good news for his fantasy outlook, if only we could be certain how much that will be. The main issue for White is that Tampa Bay start Leonard Fournette, who is unquestionably a quality running back. Combine that with how unreliable the Buccaneers' rushing game has been this year (even Fournette has had several dud fantasy weeks) and starting White becomes a huge gamble.

With the Buccaneers in need of a strong second-half of the campaign, their running game is an area they will look at closely. This is where Rachaad White comes in. If Tampa Bay starts to lean more on the run, White will see more touches. He has recently seen an uptick in carries, but nothing to suggest starting him in fantasy football.

We recommend benching Rachaad White for now, as he is too much of a gamble to risk. It is wise to wait until he shows his fantasy potential.

Tampa Bay will play the Seattle Seahawks in Week 10. Their defense is a bit suspect against the run and they are ranked 27th in the NFL against rushes inside. Rachaad White has a good chance of seeing more playing time as the season progresses, but not enough to start him, unless you have no other options.

White enters this game week fresh off a 59 all-purpose yard performance in Tampa Bay's win against the Los Angeles Rams last week. We can see White gradually robbing chances from Leonard Fournette, who has 3.3 yards per carry. This ranks as the poorest average in the league among running backs with 75 or more attempts.

Some experts predict that Rachaad White will replace the franchise's main running back before the season ends. White, who is youthful and explosive, has started to lessen Fournette's load. Last week, Fournette saw one carry fewer than White.

In some leagues, White should be actively sought after by fantasy managers. His possibilities grow in an offensive unit that is still attempting to find its rhythm. With 20 of 25 targets caught for 135 yards this season, the youngster has established himself as a reliable pass catcher, which could be very valuable.

White will likely have a breakthrough performance in one of his forthcoming games, but he is currently too risky to start. The volume may soon be there for the rookie running back despite the side's early-season struggles. The best White can offer you at this time is a gamble in the flex, but the potential reward is outweighed by the risk.
