According to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports, New England Patriots RB Shane Vereen broke a bone in his wrist on Sunday. The injury occurred on the first play of the game, but he was able to play through the injury.
He’s scheduled for surgery on Monday that will keep him out for a few weeks. This is another blow to the Patriots offense. However, help could be on the way in the form of TE Rob Gronkowski, who is making progress to return to the field.
Fellow RB Stevan Ridley’s fumble issues gave Vereen more opportunities against Buffalo and he had a big game in return. Vereen ran for 101 yards and caught seven passes for 58 yards as well.
Per Glazer, Vereen was able to play the entire game but concern grew afterwards when he experienced numbness in his wrist due to the way the bone was sitting on the nerve.
