The Dallas Cowboys and quarterback Tony Romo didn’t seem to worried about his rib injury suffered against the New York Giants Sunday, and Monday’s x-ray results confirmed why.
As expected, the x-rays came back negative for any broken ribs, Cowboys VP Stephen Jones told Dallas radio station 105.3 FM (via USA TODAY Sports).
While there’s still some soreness, Romo isn’t expected to miss any time when they take on the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday.
Romo was hurt after being crunched between two Giants DEs late in the first half of Dallas’ 36-31 win. He only missed a snap. “It’s part of football,” Romo said Sunday. “You take some hits sometime. You’ve got to play. You just get back out there and play.”
Owner Jerry Jones, who said Romo didn’t need any treatment after the hit and that the medical staff cleared him to play, praised his signal caller for his toughness. “One tough player, one tough man,” Jerry Jones said. “He will go out and play in pain and play hurt.”
